In between levels of the game we chose to use newspapers to explain the progression of the game, and help tell the games story. The style really fitted with the alternative 1950' B-movie style of the game. One of our biggest achievements was managing to really capture the feeling of the brief we were given and have an extremely coherent style in the final product.
As I have mentioned I have spent the last month doing a course at the NTI in Birmingham called Gamer Camp Nano. It has been a fantastic experience and I am currently waiting for the game that I helped make on the course to be put onto the app store for people to download and enjoy. The game was made in 11 long and hard production days. With help and mentoring from professionals within the games industry. Within the Blue Team I worked on creating the Sea Monsters that the player would defend the beach from, and also created some of the defences that would repel them. I will be creating some more posts showing off more of the work I did, and also showing screenshots from the upcoming game. I've attached spite sheets for three of the enemies I created and one of the defences, there was also an anchor that the player places to hold back monsters but I seem to have mislaid the sprite sheet for now.
I'm using my blog as a method for getting images up on the internet as reference for when the art team begins their concepting phase. Over and after the next four weeks I will be posting more stuff about the game I am working on.
